Pancake Café mog - Namba, Osaka, Japan

Another sweet surprise we found in Japan!

While it's hard to get really good pancakes locally, hunting for awesome pancakes was on my must-do-list when I was in Japan. Came across this pancake cafe because it's located just a few steps away from the hotel (Midosuji hotel) we're staying - literally 5-10 steps away haha. They have both table and bar seating; while the cafe starts operating at 11am, we reached at 11.10am and we only managed to get the last two seats at the bar counter. Lucky us! :D

The menu is relatively short and simple, serving only what they do best - pancakes, both sweet and savoury. Pancakes price ranging from 650yen (kid's set) to 1300yen (mog's collection) while drinks are between 460yen to 560yen. The photos on the menu are too alluring, it makes me want to order all of'em. Let me show you a couple which I grabbed from their official site.

Interesting - Pineapple
The very Japanese pancakeGreen tea and red bean

Beautiful pancakes stacked neatly; plating using only the ingredients involved. Too bad there were only 2 of us that's why we only get to order 2 sets :( We had the salted butter caramel pancake and the seasonal pancake (what's in the season? Yummy strawberries!!!).

Now here's what we had:

The Seasonal Pancake
3 fluffy buttery yummy pancakes in a stack, fresh and sweet strawberries topping, strawberry whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, strawberry and yoghurt dressing on the side. The strawberry dressing with slight hints of sourness tasted perfectly with the very light textured and fragrant whipped cream.
I guess when in Japan, strawberry never goes wrong!

Salted Butter Caramel Pancake
Frankly I was never a fan of caramel and banana (when it's not eaten alone) because:-
- Caramel: Often so sweet I feel diabetic
- Banana: Often so filling when I have it with other food
But what mentioned above did not apply on this plate :D It's just another wholesome yumminess on a plate :D

Hot matcha latte!
But is it just me being bias or is it a truth that when in Japan, no matter where... matcha latte tastes as good as ever?

Awesome breakfast very much guarantees a wonderful day ahead! What made us happier was... all the staffs in this cafe are lovely Japanese ladies with excellent service. I repeat... ALL :) and again, I shall repeat...

The pancakes are SO FLUFFY!
