Bo.lan - Bangkok, Thailand

Located on Sukhumvit Soi 35 (approx. 10mins walk from BTS Thong Lo Stn) nestled Bo.lan, a chic Thai restaurant ranking at no.37 on San Pellegrino's Asia's 50 Best Restaurant 2015 list. Headed by chefs Bo and Dylan, Bo.lan serves authentic Thai food in a traditional Thai-houses-inspired interior.

We went for dinner and opted for Bo.lan Balance - the degustation menu priced at THB2680++.  Another brief menu is available at THB 2280++. Vegetarian menu also available at same price.

I do not have photos of every dishes, the full menu can be downloaded at Bo.lan's website.

Pre-dinner snacks - crackers and ground nuts

Amuse bouche - interesting flavours and spices especially the last one on the right: marinated pork in rambutan with fried garlic chips

Red curry

Noodles

Bamboo shoot

Fresh local organic greens and flowers with half-boiled egg and tamarind relish

My favourite dish of all - ocean prawn salad with snake skin pear

Stir-fried pork

Amazing presentation of dessert platter. Taste however was a bit of let down, almost all components (beside the fruits) looked better than its taste.

A small grocery selling local farm products

Bo.lan was our first fine dining in Bangkok. The overall experience was great; service was prompt and friendly, beautiful environment, delicious Thai delicacies with fine and (some) rare ingredients, though not all dishes were exceptional. It is not a daily local eatery, I personally think it is a good place to dine with your friends and families on special occasions.
