Namusairo - Seoul, South Korea

Namusairo, a hidden cafe with traditional Korean house setting located on Sajik-ro 8-gil in Gwanghwamun, approximately 10 minutes walk from Gwanghwamun Station. A perfect spot to stop by for a (really) good cup of coffee when you're tired of the traditional sites around the area.

A Korean barista working in Malaysia recommended this cafe  when I was asking about good coffee places to go and her recommendation was spot on! We entered to a small space, with the coffee bar welcoming us and the rack on the left displaying roasted beans and a few merchandises for sale. Namusairo is not just a normal cafe, also a roaster themselves, they have very good blend and a fine selection of single origin beans (serving in-house and for sale). The blend during my visit was of India Ganga Giri Estate and Ethiopia Lomi Tasha. It turned out to be my favourite cuppa throughout this trip.

The staffs however speak little to no English during my visit but they are surely accommodating and friendly enough. It is in time like this I feel glad that all the time spent on watching K-dramas and K-variety shows seem like a great investment ;)

We went in the morning and there were only a few other customers in the cafe. There are outdoor and indoor seating but autumn weather made it great for outdoor seating.

Serving only light food and quality cuppa

It feels great to find such a tranquil place in a pretty touristy and easily accessible area. While I was expecting to be seeing many tourists, this cafe appears to be quite a local hangout spot. Nearer to lunch time when we were almost leaving, more corporate workers came in. I guess this place is no stranger to the locals who work around this area and man are they lucky to have such a place to grab a quality cuppa during office hours :)
