Common Man Coffee Roasters - Martin Road, Singapore

Brewed from a partnership between Harry Grover of 40 Hands, Five Senses Coffee, and the Spa Esprit Group, CMCR is the convergence of a bubbling bank of experience from the coffee cherry to the cup, encompassing a café, coffee bar, and wholesale roasting arm. - Common Man Coffee Roasters

Coffee culture in Singapore is definitely growing too rapidly. There are simply too many (really, too too many) cafés in this small country. Having visited a few, Common Man Coffee Roasters is where I've returned twice, and will still return on my very soon next visit. For its ambiance, food, coffee and service.

As said, good things come in threes.

Turkish Common Man Breakfast - Phyllo-wrapped soft boiled organic eggs, crispy feta, fresh cucumber and tomatoes, olives and hummus, with pita bread.
One of its kind. But I'm no feta, olives & pita bread lover. Having said that, it's still a very decent plate. The hidden egg was a surprise though!

L-R - Common Man Full Breakfast
- Fluffy brioche french toast, berries compote, premium maple syrup & Kapiti vanilla ice cream
- Organic Eggs Benedict

I really love the french toast! Fluffy as its name suggests!

Organic Eggs Benedict - Tender braised ox cheeks, two poached organic eggs and chive Hollandaise with sourdough toast. This is some serious eggs benedict, definitely not among the mediocre (I personally take eggs pretty seriously). First, of course is the oozing yolks. Poached to my kind of perfection. Then it's the tender braised ox cheeks, it's indeed tender. You know how disappointing and fed up you'll get (or I'll get, all the time) when some dishes tend to incorporate adjectives into their names and turn out nothing similar to what its name suggests? Glad this does not happen here!

This café gets really busy during brunch time, especially over the weekend, but be rest assured of the quality and service. They won't fail to impress. Well if they really happen to fail...the interior and ambiance still make it a pretty cool place to chill ;)
